There are hundreds of thousands of iOS games out there, many of them truly innovative and amazing in their own unique way. However, if you happen to be a fan of some of the bigger console games, then do not worry at all, there are many iOS versions of your favourite video games available right now and we’re here to have a look at a few of them…

Mirror’s Edge
The amazingly simple yet fun version of the game brought to us by EA arrived on the iTunes app store in 2010. While it seems like it would be difficult for the iPhone to match the incredible gameplay that Mirrors Edge offered on the PS3, it actually does a very good job of matching both it’s style and gameplay.

The game is simplified in to a 2D style platformer in which you control Faith over roofs and secret bases with a series of swipe controls that let you jump, climb walls and roll through the beautiful looking world. It’s currently only $0.99 on the app store, so it really is a steal.

Poker Night 2
The original Poker Night was a fantastic game for the PC that I personally bought through steam and played a load. The new version of the game, brought to us by the amazing Telltale Inc, is available on both PC and iOS allowing you to take this ridiculous poker game on the go.

There’s a great review of the game over on pokervideos.org.uk, but it’s basically a poker game that features all of your favourite characters from a number of other videogames including Claptrap from borderlands 2 and GLaDOS from the Portal series.

Assassin’s Creed: Altair’s Chronicles
The Assassin’s Creed series was and is a fantastic one. It’s truly outstanding how fun it can be to be a master assassin back in time taking out the baddies with as little sound as possible. The iPhone version of the game “Altair’s Chronicles” takes place in 1191 AD in Jerusalem. Your mission is to steal “the chalice” from the Templars to end the Crusades taking place in that time. The game isn’t too bad for such a fully fleshed out game at £2.99.

Injustice: Gods Among Us
Released around the same time as the console version of this DC fighting game, “Injustice: Gods Among Us” is such an well-polished iOS game, one of the best games I have ever played on iOS. It captures the characters extremely well and the cast features and incredible variety including multiple versions of Superman, Catwoman, Batman, The Flash, The Joker and many more of your favourite DC superheroes and villains.

Not only is it a fantastic and somewhat nostalgic fighting game, but it also incorporates a card collecting side in which you can unlock and purchase new character cards with the money you earn from fighting.
