Apple has recently unveiled the new version of its mobile operating system, iOS 9. It has also unveiled – although probably just accidentally – the iPhone 6S, which will be launched together with the new iOS, this fall. The new operating system has a series of improvements compared to the last one, but perhaps the biggest updates will be those applied to its built-in apps. And when it comes to the new phone… well, it can help you take Euro Palace with you on your Mobile, and that’s about as much as there is to know about it for sure at this time. So let’s see what improvements will Apple’s iOS 9 bring into our lives.
1. Siri becomes smarter
According to the information revealed at the Apple keynote during the WWDC 2015, Siri will become a smarter companion for you on the go. The info on Apple’s website promises Siri to be more predictive, and will better understand what you tell her. “For example, say <<Show me photos from my trip to Aspen in January>> and you’ll get exactly what you’re looking for,” Apple promises. Besides, a great improvement will be how Siri understands “this”. Telling her to remind you of “this” later will cause her to see which app you are currently using – iMessage for example – and create a reminder for a later time about the message you were reading.
2. Maps gets public transportation transit info
“Now you can use public transportation with Maps as your guide,” according to Apple’s website. Apple Maps will get the oh so necessary public transit information in select cities, and the new Nearby feature will inform you about venues around your location or destination, helping you decide if you wish to have a coffee or a croissant when you get there.
Although there is no official word out about this, Apple’s cars are reportedly on the streets, taking photos of the roads – this indicates an upcoming competitor to Google Street View, I presume.
3. More cards in your Wallet
The new Wallet app will allow users to store not just their generic credit cards, but store credit card information and reward cards as well, like Dunkin’ Donuts DD Perks, Walgreens Balance Rewards, and MyPanera. Besides, double tapping the Home button will be enough to bring up the Wallet app to make payments and collect rewards.
The new version of Apple’s mobile OS will be not just smarter and more responsive, but will use a series of tricks to add up to one hour of battery life to your phone before every charge. Besides, it will be more secure, and its updates will finally be smaller and more convenient.
